Full Job Description

Set and operate CNC turning centres and Vertical machine centres in a safe manner ensuring Quality and Production pre-set targets are achieved on a consistent basis.

Secondary Function

To meet business needs flexibility of Labour amongst the work force is essential. There may be times when machinists will be required to work on Assembly or other areas. To prepare for this Training will be given.

A) Knowledge of Mazak and Hass CNC programming systems.

B) Working knowledge of ISO9001 Quality Management system

C) Good knowledge of interpreting Engineering Drawings

D) Ability to program Mazak CNC machinery on the panel, set and operate within a Production Environment .

E) Be able to work with the minimum of Supervision

F) Eye for detail and to be able to use inspection equipment to self -inspect work produced.

G) Meet Production and Quality targets on a consistent basis

H) Input into Continual improvement initiatives relating to the section

I) Tidy worker with good housekeeping approach to the working area.

Qualifications:

Strong Engineering skills with a minimum of 2 years setting and operating CNC Machines

Skills:

Experience of Programming of Mazak turning centres and Mazak 4 axis machine tools

Able to interpret Engineering drawings and self- inspect work using Inspection equipment.

Good Communication skills being approachable, consistent, diplomatic with good team building skills.

Results orientated, focused, self- motivated with a "can do" approach.

Be able to trouble shoot production problems by having a mature approach with a lateral root cause analyse thinking approach to providing sustainable solutions to problems encountered

Knowledge of ISO 9001 Management system
