Full Job Description

  • Supporting machine shop floor production technicians in producing, modifying and assembling mechanical parts
  • Planning how parts are to be manufactured, provide CNC programmes to various machines with clear instructions and ensure that they are completed to a high standard
  • Assisting internal customers to manufacture one-off prototypes, batch work for production as well as repairs and modifications
  • Work closely with the Design and Production departments, assisting with prototypes and production items and be able to create, review and approve drawings
  • You will also be expected to design in 3D CAD (Creo) and manage production aid requests from the production shop floor
  • Understands First Article Inspection and producing all relevant reports, Reporting into the Process Engineering Team Lead you will work alongside Process Engineers supporting the Design and Production teams at Rochester. This role works closely with the on-site machine shop and is a stimulating role which will test your manufacturing and mechanical knowledge.

    Proven experience as a CNC Engineer, CNC Machinist, or CNC Programmer in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Good knowledge and experience of manufacturing processes and engineering principles including design for manufacture
  • Experienced in off line programming using CAM (preferred Edgecam) to drive 3, 4 & 5 axis mills/lathes
  • Proven experience in reading/analysing drawings for machined parts to industry standards and experience in cutting tools and design
  • Desirable:
  • Knowledge in Siemens CNC controls on 3, 4 & 5 axis machines and experience in using CAD to design production aids
  • Experience in CMM programming (PCDMIS), metrology & measurement data analysis would be advantageous
  • HNC/HND in a Manufacturing or Mechanical discipline
