Full Job Description

As a CNC Setter Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing a variety of engine components for super/hyper car manufacturers. In this role, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating multiple CNC machines, as well as reading and editing programs to ensure smooth operations. You will also be responsible for conducting quality control checks using various measurement tools, and inspecting/maintaining machinery, tooling, and equipment. Your goal will be to ensure that all parts meet specifications and to minimise production downtime. The Role:

  • To manufacture engine parts for Automotive and Aerospace customers.
  • To set and operate machines in a safe manner with regard to themselves and others, complying with the Health and Safety at Work Act.
  • To produce components to the company standard in the most efficient / cost effective manner.
  • To be familiar with all systems and procedures of their job.
  • Ensure that information is transferred between shifts and team members as required.
  • If problems occur ensure the relevant people are kept informed e.g. Team Leader, Shift Leader, Production Engineer, Scheduler & Maintenance.
  • Be committed to continuous improvement and suggest improvements regarding methods, processes and tooling.
  • To highlight problems as soon as they occur to the Team Leader / Shift leader.
  • Keep working area clean and tidy.

    Ability to read, interpret and communicate technical information and drawings.
  • Experience using Multi Axis Mill/Turn machines essential.
  • Experience using 4 Axis Milling Machines & 2/3 Axis Lathes.
  • Experience of Fanuc Controls
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of:
  • Tool selection criteria.
  • Cutting tool parameters.
  • Manual machining techniques.
  • Quality principles.
  • Inspection techniques.
