Full Job Description

  • As part of a senior nursing team, help co-ordinate the specialist service in a variety of settings, ensuring the quality of care provision to children.
  • To assist in providing specialist education, training and information to children, families and members of multidisciplinary team.
  • To be responsible for monitoring patient condition, administering treatment and communicating change to senior specialist nurse or multidisciplinary team.
  • To be responsible for nursing practice development.
  • To act as an independent prescriber in areas of competency

    We are seeking a self-motivated, dynamic, and reliable individual, who can demonstrate compassion and empathy and has a passion for working with children from birth to adolescence in a highly specialised area.
  • You will join an already established nursing team, and work both closely and independently with members of the multi-disciplinary team. As a Metabolic CNS, you will liaise and co-ordinate the care for patients with inherited metabolic disorders. This will include treating and being nurse advocate for patients in various settings. Candidates require the following: RN child qualification Evidence of continual professional development and commitment to attend necessary metabolic study days/conferences. Evidence of good time management skills Ability to learn and establish care for numerous complex medical metabolic disorders. Previous knowledge and experience with medical metabolic patients is desirable. Evidence of excellent and adaptable communication skills. Ability to work well within a busy multi-disciplinary team. Able to respond to problem situations and ensure that effective interventions are put in place. Ability to work autonomously.
