Full Job Description

The post holder will provide the NICE-recommended models of cognitive-behavioural therapy for depression and the anxiety disorders in the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale area. They will work closely with colleagues, Senior CBT therapist, Clinical Lead and Step 3/3.5 Service Manager in delivering these., The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment and formulation of patient's difficulties before delivering trials of treatment and review in accordance with NICE guidelines for the common mental health disorders. They will provide effective treatment planning and delivery as per the most recent version of the IAPT manual, and Trust-wide Healthy Minds Ops policy.
The postholder will manage an independent caseload, book to achieve the required number of weekly contacts, and make good use of monthly line management/fortnightly clinical supervision. They will provide weekly case consultations for Step 2 clinicians within HMR Talking Therapies on cases where there are doubts/uncertainties around suitability for brief CBT in this setting.

Disclosure Barring Certificate check
All of our new starters, who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS), will be recharged for the full cost of the check (DBS checks for volunteers are free of charge).
An enhanced DBS check costs £38 and a standard check costs £18 (plus an administration charge of £3.50). If you are a substantive member of staff, the full amount will be taken from your first month's salary.
If you are a member of staff on our bank, you will need to repay the full amount from your first salary.
We encourage you to register with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13 (this is mandatory for bank staff).

Our base is 12 miles north-east of central Manchester, accessible in 15 minutes by public transport.
The service comprises 3 partners: Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust provides Step 3/3.5 NICE-recommended psychological therapies for common mental health problems. Big Life Group provides Gateway interventions, Step 2 interventions, Guided Self-Help and Counselling. Getting Help gives practical interventions around housing, finance, health, wellbeing and sexuality.
