Base: Harry Blackman House, Peasley Cross & St Johns Unit, Widnes,
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic, motivated and flexible qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) practitioners to join our Early Intervention Team.
This role will be worked between Warrington and Halton Early Intervention Team and St Helens and Knowsley Early Intervention Team. Applicants need to be accredited with the BABCP.
We offer staff weekly Clinical supervision along with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) time to support with the expansion of skills in the service.
The applicant must be subject to a regulatory body- NMC. The applicant must have experience of providing CBT for individuals experiencing psychosis or personality disorder. The successful applicant will be offering CBT to individuals on the teams At Risk Mental State Pathway, which is a primary care mental health pathway. CBTp is desirable but not essential.
BFT competence would also be desirable, but not essential.

Main duties of the job
To provide highly specialised psychotherapy services within the Halton and
Warrington and St Helens and Knowsley Early Intervention Team including the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy at the same time as offering advice and consultation on individual's psychological care to non-psychologist colleagues and to other, non-professional carers, working autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the services policies and procedures. To utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area in which the post holder works., Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the Early Intervention Service.
Assess and triage individuals for suitability for psychological interventions based upon the appropriate use and interpretation of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological tests, self report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews.
Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the Resilience Hub's referral protocols, and signpost / refer individuals on to the relevant service.
Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for individuals, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the individual's needs based on cognitive behavioural models, and employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy.
To proactively outreach and provide targeted support to individuals who would benefit from the Resilience Hub and deliver accredited screening tools to assess needs, triage and signpost people to the most appropriate service for them.
Use highly developed communication skills in working with people to understand their personal and often very sensitive difficulties.
To exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of individuals in line with the service.
Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying CBT and other psychological formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.
Adhere to an agreed activity contract relating to the number of individual contacts offered, and clinical sessions carried out per week in order to minimise waiting times and ensure treatment delivery remains accessible and convenient.
Attend multi-disciplinary meetings relating to referrals or individuals in treatment, where appropriate.
Complete all requirements relating to data collection and key performance indicators within the Resilience Hub and support any service evaluations and research projects.
Keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.
Work closely with other members of the team ensuring appropriate step-up and step-down arrangements are in place to maintain a stepped care approach.
Assess and integrate issues surrounding work and employment into the overall therapy
process.
To undertake risk assessment and risk management for individuals and to provide advice to other professions on psychological aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
Carry out clinical audits of service performance, including user surveys and
evaluations, and help to collate and disseminate the results for feedback.
Liaise with other health, social care, primary care and emergency services staff from a range of
agencies in the care provided to individuals.
Provide specialist advice and consultation to other professionals / individuals / groups / committees across NHS Trusts, social care provision, primary care services, emergency services and other voluntary agencies regarding service matters related to the practice and delivery of
specific agreed therapeutic modalities and service provision.
To support the development of clinical pathways within the EIT, including mapping the current psychological offer across Cheshire & Merseyside, developing online resources and resources to be used within the Resilience Hub that are clinically sound.
