Full Job Description

We are looking to appoint a self-motivated individual with great interpersonal skills and a commitments to customer service to work, as an administrator within the Colorectal Nursing Team, at the James Paget University Hospital.

This exciting position will allow the successful post holder to work in a well-established and friendly team. The role involves working 22.5 hours per week and we are flexible with working patterns for this to be undertaken over 3, 4 or 5 days depending on the candidates circumstances and preference.

The role with involve administrative duties supporting the dynamic Colorectal Nursing Team. As the successful post holder you would be directly supporting patients pathways and improving the quality of care for patients on the Colorectal Cancer Pathway.

Main duties of the job

Book and outcome appointments on IPM for straight-to-test patients referred on the 2ww Lower GI suspected cancer pathway.

Generate and type letters through IPM for patients referred for a straight-to-test Endoscopy procedure and ensure Endoscopy referrals are completed, logged and taken to the Endoscopy department in a timely manner.

Use the bighand software to type and send letters to patients following nurse-led clinic appointments.

Use the Somerset system to pull reports that identify patients on the patient centered follow-up pathway.

Maintain an excel spreadsheet database for Colorectal patient centered follow ups.

Maintain an excel spreadsheet database for Lynch patients.

Maintain a diary for planned follow up patient telephone calls.

Flag up an abnormal reports sent to the Colorectal Nursing Team in a timely manner.

Put cancer information packs together for the Colorectal Nursing Team.

Attend promotional events with the Colorectal Nursing Team.

Support the administrator duties for the Colon Capsule Service.

General Administrative duties such as, telephone calls, opening and distribution of post, and printing documents.

Further duties with evolve and be required, as the service develops.
