Full Job Description

The Commercial Contracts Lawyer will work closely with the Assistant General Counsel and with other members of the Office of the General Counsel in London and in New York.

The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing and negotiating outside counsel/local counsel engagement letters, expert engagement letters and other vendor agreements in a law firm setting. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to work under tight deadlines and be able to handle multiple competing priorities. Knowledge of the systems and technology that support the Firm's practice is preferable.
Responsibilities/Duties

  • Assist with reviewing and negotiating outside counsel/local counsel engagement letters, expert engagement letters and other vendor agreements.

  • Assist with due diligence reviews of vendors.

  • Ability to handle confidential information and material with the highest degree of discretion and professional responsibility.

  • Participate in continuing education and conduct research to advance competencies.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, handle multiple competing priorities and provide practical legal advice.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Minimum 1-3 years PQE in contract law and drafting.

  • Previous experience in a law firm, in-house legal team, professional services or consulting firm is strongly desired.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with internal stakeholders and third parties.

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

  • Ability to follow up and track open action items with stakeholders.

  • Motivated individual with an enthusiasm for learning and a positive attitude.

  • Self-starter and ability to work under tight deadlines.

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate with offices and other contacts in different time zones.

  • Must be a qualified lawyer
