Full Job Description

Do you want to undertake an opportunity in one of CCS’s highest profile category groups? Do you want to lead in delivering significant growth opportunities this year and deliver market leading solutions to the public sector? Do you want to take on an exciting opportunity to help build your commercial capability in CCS? HR & Workforce Commercial Category team is a high profile Category which has shown exponential growth over the last 5 years. We are a supportive team of highly-experienced construction, procurement and category management professionals. These roles will be a part of commercial and procurement processes on behalf of CCS. You will contribute to deliver commercial excellence for CCS, through supporting activity across the procurement lifecycle. This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in commercial procurement and supply. In this role, you will work as part of a fast-paced customer focused commercial team and undertake the Level 4 Commercial Procurement & Supply Apprenticeship. An Apprenticeship provides work-based, on the job training and development. The training is fully funded so it doesn’t cost you anything – and you’ll earn whilst you learn. It will provide you with the skills, knowledge and behaviours you need to be fully effective in a designated role. With very few exceptions, you don’t need to have related work experience or qualifications to apply. What is important throughout the Apprenticeship is that you put into practice what you learn, and capture evidence of this so your progress and increasing capability can be assessed. We want you to get the most out of your Apprenticeship. To help you manage your learning we will give you, over the duration of the Apprenticeship, a minimum of 20% of your paid working hours to focus on skills development. This means you won’t be asked to study in your own time. However, both the role and the Apprenticeship are very demanding and you will need to work hard. You will be assessed throughout and at the end of your Apprenticeship by submitting coursework, undertaking exams and presenting your work to others. There is plenty of support and you will be part of a larger apprentice community and, where possible, we will get you involved in apprenticeship related activities, so you’ll get to know people outside of your own team or Department., Further information can be found in the Apprenticeship Standard – you should read this to see the skills, knowledge and behaviours you will need to have learned by the end of your apprenticeship. There you can also find a link to the assessment plan. This will give you details of how the apprenticeship is assessed. For this programme, you will undertake nine exams in the first 12 months and once successful in these, you will undertake a 5,000-word project in 3 months. https://www.instituteforapprenticeships.org/apprenticeship-standards/commercial-procurement-and-supply-formerly-public-sector-commercial-professional-v2-1, Commercial is the largest directorate in CCS and is responsible for the design, development, implementation and management of our commercial agreements, which are used by our customers across the public sector.
