  • Role and Responsibilities Your key responsibilities The purpose of the role is to support the Commercial Finance Manager to provide commercial and financial support to a product sub-division of the DX Divisions of Samsung Electronics UK. The role sits within the Finance Operations team, is a business-partnering role supporting the divisional Product Management and Sales teams, and reports to the Commercial Finance Manager. Financial management and control
  • Work with AR to review Customer balances and manage impacts, following up with sales and PM if necessary
  • Balance sheet management, reviewing regularly to manage in line with accounting principles and providing transparency for investment purposes.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure deal sheets are processed appropriately and resolve any booking queries
  • Commercial Analysis and driving financial performance
  • Support the Commercial Finance Manager with the development and implementation of frameworks/templates/reports to support analysis
  • Review Customer accounts to understand historical performance/Key drivers/trends in order to aid future proposals
  • Look at data to understand current market and competitor positioning
  • Work closely and collaborate with Product Management and Sales to understand performance across the division. Ensure any risks and opps are highlighted and work through with the Commercial Finance Manager
  • Review promotions in life with sales/PM and ensure changes to deals are captured in good time.
  • Work with the Finance manager and the commercial teams to look at product profitability and opportunities to improve
  • Financial planning
  • Support the Divisions' annual, quarterly and monthly financial planning processes by challenging the inputs assumptions appropriately
  • Work with the Finance Manager to provide the appropriate level of challenge ensuring the plans are robust, stretching and achievable.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis where necessary (e.g. scenario planning, sensitivity analysis).
  • Support the Finance Manager with Sales, PM and FP&A to drive better ways of working and implementing new commercial planning processes., Supporting the Commercial Finance Manager and product category by offering accurate and timely assistance with commercial proposals. This involves handling Sales Deduction investment, important brand/PI metrics, profit and sales volumes. Market and channel insights will be applied to improve return on investment and minimize commercial risk.
  • Acting as a bridge between sales, product management and FP&A to support accurate financial simulations and commercial deal approval. Ensuring that divisional and sub-divisional forecasts are accurate and reflective of the correct commercial and accounting treatment.

  • Experience within technology sector and a fast paced sales environment desirable

  • Hard Skills
  • Newly qualified or part qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), ideally with experience in industry, or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors;
  • Hands on experience of using reporting systems (preferably SAP).
  • Ability to implement change process to streamline and make existing processes more efficient.
