Commercial Finance Manager

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Commercial Finance Manager to join our team at Ascot Racecourse. In this crucial role you will be responsible for providing insight-driven reporting and supporting the Senior Finance Manager in leading the financial operations and processes for all Ascot operations. You will establish effective relationships with operational heads of department to ensure operational teams have a robust understanding of their financial responsibilities. We are committed to providing our guests with an outstanding experience hosting one of the world's most prestigious race meetings, Royal Ascot, as well as 21 race days and numerous non-racing events each year.,

• Assist SFM in Leading the financial operations and processes for all Ascot operations and guide department heads on financial results, KPI management, reporting and analysis.
• Support & influence key operational decisions, take detailed analysis and make it presentable for both segment review and in-house team review and analysis.
• Form productive and proactive relationships with the operational heads of department to help embed a stronger commercial focus, support and ensure budgets and forecasts are robust and owned.
• To ensure that all team members work in a safe environment
• To suppot HOD's & the business in Cost Management through careful planning pre raceday & key analytics post raceday
• Operational team support of costs / P&L.
• Assist SFM in driving commercial analytics providing key commentary and variance analysis of monthly P&l & balance sheet movements
• Ownership of timely & accurate billing across various segments including Fine Dining, Boxes, Agreed Price
• Ownership of timely & accurate journal postings of various expenditure across various segments including Fine Dining, Boxes, Agreed Price
• To support the team to resolve any sales or purchase ledger queries that may arise
• To support Raceday events including pre race day planning, race day operational support & post raceday financial closure

You will be accustomed to dealing with large volumes of data including SAP & Kapture within a fast paced environment, where accuracy and deadline deliverables are key. You will also have:
• An accountancy qualification (part Qualified accountant, towards the end of finishing their studies
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills with experience in management accounts and reporting developments
• Desirable to have good working knowledge of SAP or other primary accounting systems
• Experience in operational and financial controls and continuous improvement
• Desirable to have knowledge of a high-volume hospitality / restaurant / F&B environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and leadership of team members
• Clearly identifiable influencing skills
