Commercial Law Solicitor

Working as part of a well-versed and professional team, you will provide expert legal advice, as well as vision and direction to the business. Supporting compliance to ultimately protect the legal interests and nationwide reputation.

What will you do?

• Advise on all legal matters, including corporate transactions, material developments and provide succinct direction.


• Understand, develop and implement the legal commercial strategy of the business with a keen eye for supporting and developing the business reputation.


• Use commercial intuition to maximise and optimise contract use.


• Create and confidently deliver training on critical legal matters within the organisation to ensure a wide knowledge-base of the commercial legal strategy and legislation which can impact the business.


• Identify potential compliance issues to prevent legal, commercial or repetitional risk.


• Refine corporate governance for the group and stay abreast of legislation to ensure governance processes are compliant for the business.


• Organise corporate filings, inter-company contracts and group structure refinement.


• Support the business to mitigate risk relating to cost proactively.


• Ensure all litigation, disputes and claims are managed to secure the optimal outcome for the group and ensure lessons are learned, communicated and reacted to appropriately.


• Manage a challenging yet rewarding workload and ensure deadlines are met.
  
  Have a Law Degree (LLB) or other degree with Graduate Diploma in Law conversion.


• Post graduate Legal Practice Course.


• Qualified Solicitor of at least five years post qualification experience, ideally with a strong knowledge of commercial contract law.


• Relevant post-qualification legal experience gained either in-house or in private practice.


• Strong technical legal expertise and can act with confidence whilst being approachable.


• High level of commercial awareness.


• Flexible and experience of working to tight deadlines under pressure.


• Adaptable communication skills both written and verbal with a confident articulate approach to communicating with a variety of senior stakeholders whilst creating and maintaining relationships.


• In depth knowledge of current and emerging legislation whilst keeping abreast of changes in legislation.


• Be confident in engaging challenging and difficult conversations without antagonising the recipients and remaining receptive of their opinions to achieve optimal commercial solutions.


• Experience of critical decision making., Post Qualification: 5 years (required)


Licence/Certification:

• LLB / other degree with Graduate Diploma: Law conversion (required)

Pay: £70,000.00-£80,000.00 per year
