The Solution Delivery Digital Data and Technology Team provide commercial and procurement solutions for projects supporting digital transformation programmes across the Metropolitan Police.   • Substantial experience and demonstrable evidence of leading end to end high value, complex and compliant technology procurements, ideally within a regulated or public sector environment.
  • Substantial experience and applying this knowledge to identify, mitigate and manage commercial risk and issues across the commercial lifecycle. Evidence of driving value for money on delivering major complex projects, including the use of negotiation, pricing and evaluation models within a competitive tender procurement, to ensure a successful commercial outcome.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage a demanding workload, demonstrating experience of managing ambiguity and evidence of delivering to deadlines using strong project management capabilities.
  • Experience of working as a commercial business partner, influencing senior stakeholders and strategic suppliers, with or without authority projecting personal impact and credibility at all levels.
  • Experience of inclusive leadership and building commercial capability by feedback, coaching, delegation and mentoring with sharing of expertise/knowledge.
  • Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working in Contract Management roles or across the commercial life cycle.
  • CIPS qualification / IACCM certification (or working towards).

  • Application process
  • If successful at the paper sift stage, candidates will be invited to the Government Commercial Function Assessment and Development Centre (ADC) where your skills and experience will be assessed against the Commercial People Standards for the Profession at Commercial Lead Level. The ADCs will be held January 2025. Depending on the outcome of the ADC, successful candidates will then be invited to a panel interview.
  • Interview selection is based on the Government Commercial Function People Standards at Commercial Lead Level.
  • Internal and external candidates who have secured an A at the ADC will be eligible for a permanent appointment.
  • External candidates who have secured a B at the ADC are eligible for appointment on a 2-year fixed term contract, until such time they re-sit the ADC and secure an A, at which point they can be offered a permanent contract at the same level without further competition., If successful at the paper sift stage, successful candidates will then be invited to undertake the Government Commercial Function Assessment and Development Centre at Commercial Lead level.
