Commercial Manager

We are looking for a Commercial Manager to join our Building team in Gloucestershire, to oversee the administration of the head contract whilst delegating responsibilities and managing Direct reports within the Commercial Team.

Established in the UK in 2000, Skanska has more than 3,300 local experts delivering projects across sectors including real estate, defence, education, highways, rail and water. Our Building team have created inspiring places to work including Norton Folgate in London and Unity Place in Swindon.

This is a key role in reporting on commercial data including forecasting and working in conjunction with the design team and advising on budgets and affordability.

What you'll do:

• Demonstrate good financial acumen and have a full understanding of the Contract, both with the Client and the supply chain


• Effectively manage and control Trade Contractor packages during works on site up to final account agreement


• Manage and motivate a team of commercial staff and create a good team environment


• Prepare and compile monthly cost and value details and quarterly forecast details including revenue forecasting


• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills


• Effective control of change and lead co-ordination and communication within all team members


• Manage and control payments to supply chain by team to ensure timely actioned with correct notices


• Collate and liaison with Client team to carry out Audit as required of project costs


• Actively manages the development of the commercial team


• Present monthly CVR and quarterly commercial details
  
  Previous experience at Commercial Manager level.


• Detailed working knowledge of contract/commercial law


• Experience of working at a commercial capacity within senior management teams


• MRICS qualified highly desirable/degree educated in a relevant subject.


• Previous experience working on a DIO/MOD contract desirable


• NEC Contract Experience, Specifically NEC 3 Option A


• Leader of Managers/Specialist


Security Clearance

This role requires Cabinet Office security clearance. You should be aware that this has specific UK residency requirements of 5 years for SC or 10 years for DV; and any dual or multiple nationalities must be declared. Any persons who do not fulfil these residency requirements may be unable to obtain the required level of clearance and therefore would not be eligible to undertake the role. Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role.
