Full Job Description

The Role:As Senior Commercial Manager, you'll take the lead in managing our key commercial relationship with one of the Top 4 UK retailers. You'll be the linchpin between our business and theirs, driving commercial strategy, supply chain integration, and New Product Development (NPD) to maximize growth and profitability. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that will see you working closely with our Customer Director and cross-functional teams to deliver revenue and margin growth for both our business and the retailer.,

  • Own and drive the commercial strategy with a Top 4 UK retailer, ensuring all business areas are aligned and focused on achieving results.
  • Act as the main point of contact, managing the day-to-day relationship with the retailer, ensuring smooth communication across commercial, supply chain, and NPD functions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, including production, technical, supply chain, and category management, to ensure seamless operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Leverage your understanding of Category Management principles to shape and direct our categories for mutual benefit.
  • Analyse sales data, identify key performance drivers, and create actionable plans to address business challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Travel to customer meetings and our manufacturing sites as needed to maintain strong, strategic partnerships.
  • Management of one Commercial Executive within the account.

    Are you a passionate, results-driven Commercial Manager with a strong track record in the chilled food sector? Do you have experience managing high-level relationships with the UK's top retailers, particularly Tesco? If so, we want to hear from you!, A proven track record of dealing with major UK retailers for at least 3 years experience of Buyer level or above - Tesco experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in both Own Label and Branded products, with a deep understanding of what retailers look for in a supplier.
  • Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret market data and trends to inform commercial decisions.
  • Self-motivated, with a proactive attitude towards identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
  • A passion for food and a strong understanding of chilled and short-shelf-life categories.
  • Financially literate with excellent attention to detail and the ability to work across various functions.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills, with the gravitas to represent our company professionally at a senior level.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly MS Office, and experience in category management, open book costing models, and commodity tracking.
  • Flexibility to travel for customer meetings (London) and our UK site visits as required.
