Full Job Description

As a Commercial Manager, your responsibilities will include: 1. Manage all commercial and contractual aspects of the Developer Services supply chain 2. Liaise with functions across the department to ensure that all contracts and supplier spend is done in line with company arrangements (such as Procurement policies including tendering), and that all requirements and instructions are controlled by, and channelled through, you 3. Manage the commercial aspects of all supplier activities, including contract form and allocation, payment authorisation, changes to scope, service and cost 4. Systemise the control of supply chain contracts by implementing and developing systems such as CEMAR and Teamworks 5. Develop and maintain strategic oversight of the supply chain and its activities to ensure that the department is achieving the best overall service (of which commercial terms is an element) for our customers, including the availability of contractors to deliver the required services 6. Ensure framework agreements with suppliers are appropriate, robust and administratively maintained 7. Liaise closely with all departmental teams, Procurement and the Commercial Manager - Revenue to ensure that all supply chain contractual terms align in order to support effective service and minimise risk for DCWW 8. Appoint and manage additional commercial project management resources / agencies where needed for long-term / complex / high profile customer contracts 9. Manage the commercial aspects of Requisitions, Diversions, Plan and Protect schemes and ensure comprehensive contractual accuracy and completeness of information.     Relevant degree or equivalent
  • Experience in construction contract management
  • Working knowledge of NEC contract forms and associated governance systems
  • Experience of commercial negotiations including price, risk, terms
  • Experience of contract disputes and resolution
  • Ability to assess a supply chain / sector and develop strategic plans for procuring / contracting with the most appropriate companies
  • Enthusiastic about putting our customers first every day
  • Commercially and financially astute
  • Excellent communicator
