Full Job Description

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Commercial Motor Underwriter to support the growth and retention of our comprehensive and established Commercial Motor Client Portfolio. This position would ideally suit an individual from a Commercial Motor Insurance broking / underwriting background looking to further their career within Commercial Motor underwriting. We offer a platform to build on existing skill sets and knowledge and also an opportunity to learn new skills in a continuous improvement environment where you will be expected to carry out a wide range of underwriting activities relating to authorised products. The role will be involved in executing the company strategy and contributing to the achievement of our financial plans. In addition, the role is responsible for providing a superior customer service and delivering the required product profitability whilst building and maintaining excellent relationships with our colleagues across the business We will count on you to :

  • Underwrite a variety of commercial motor products with you own delegated underwriting authority
  • Contribute to growing Victor's book of national business
  • Build strong relationships with broking partners and internal stakeholders
  • Contribute to and implement the underwriting strategy for all products, working within our established risk appetite
  • Work with Senior Underwriters to increase your knowledge and network to progress your personal brand and career
  • Apply a range of underwriting, relationship management and business development techniques to new and existing business
  • Work with our broker panel to identify, discuss, negotiate and renew existing business as well as bring in new business opportunities all whilst making effective underwriting decisions.
  • Manage quality first and underwriting peer review requirements to identify areas for underwriting and product improvement

    Commercial Motor insurance market knowledge and experience
  • Teamwork and successful record of delivering results
  • Good organisational skills to ensure that company processes and procedures are maintained
  • Communicating, influencing, negotiating and relationship building skills
  • Strong personal drive and results orientation
