If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you., We are recruiting for a Commercial Officer, working within the NHS England Commercial Governance, Policy & Improvement function. This is an exciting role, working within a dynamic, multi-disciplined team in a time of change.
This role will work in the Procurement Spend Controls team as part of the Commercial Governance and Assurance team. This team is responsible for supporting NHS Trusts to comply with the Cabinet Office Commercial Spend Controls which provide enhanced assurance on significant and complex areas of spending before contractual commitment is in place. The Procurement Spend Controls team works with NHS Trusts to collate their procurement pipelines and onward business case submissions to Cabinet Office.
We are looking for an experienced and capable individual, who ideally has experience of successfully supporting and developing workflow systems in a commercial context and of Commercial policy in the public sector.
You will be working with and supporting the Spend Controls Manager with the regional rollout of the Cabinet Office Commercial Spend Controls to all NHS Trusts in England and support the Trusts in following this process on an ongoing basis. You will have the chance to build networks across the NHS and deliver excellent value through strong stakeholder and customer support.
The successful candidate will be experienced in delivering a reliable, effective stakeholder and customer service and will be someone that works well in a team and autonomously., · To support the Spend Controls team ensuring adherence to our controls, improving compliance and governance.
· To support the Spend Controls manger in rolling out the cabinet office efficiency controls to all trusts by the end of 2024 and ICBs by the end of March 2025.
· Provide administrative support with the regional rollout of the Spend Control programme.
· To regularly report on Atamis to identify Trust work plans and liaising with trusts monthly to ensure full view of all pipelines.
· Support with uploading Trust work plans to the Cabinet Office CAMS system to be taken through the Pipeline Assurance Review.
· Maintain Trust contact list including status of Atamis system registration by Trusts.
· Manage an excel tracker containing the details of all NHS Trust work plans along with their Cabinet Office submission status ensuring that the tracker contains up to date information and Trusts are asked for regular updates
· Develop ad-hoc reports based on the data contained in the excel tracker
· Provide administrative support for the monthly NHS England Commercial Assurance Panel and record meeting actions
· Manage the commercial inbox and respond to Trust queries about the Spend Controls process or more general commercial queries.

· Driven, highly motivated individual with experience in the use of workflow systems, ideally in a commercial context.
· Experience in providing outstanding customer and stakeholder service in a timely and effective manner
· Excellent communication skills, ability to impart complex information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
· Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring the best commercial results
