What you'll do:

  • Build the Global Commercial Operations function in line with the strategic plan.

  • Develop and maintain globally consistent sales activities, tools and processes.

  • Support and ensure the completion of growth planning activities (i.e., customer account plans, country market development plans, and growth program development plans).

  • Implement a common sales reporting platform to enable insightful real time understanding of the global sales pipeline and our book to bill ratio and regularly report at executive level.

  • Utilise market intelligence, data and analytics to proactively identify new sales leads and opportunities.

  • Assign new leads and opportunities to the appropriate sales team and collaborate to understand timing, win probability and resource needs.

  • Support sales effectiveness by leading regular pipeline, bookings and forecast reviews with site based sales teams and key account managers.

  • Support the RFQ process with quote qualification tools and manage the process to ensure all quotations are followed up and closed while understanding, and feeding back, the basis for losses and unresponsive customers.

  • Support sales and key account management with regularly updated customer dashboards to ensure every customer engagement has the opportunity to be successful and support the achievement of company objectives.

  • Ensure that large and complex sales or distribution opportunities are appropriately modelled, and approved in accordance with the company approval policy.

  • Assume appropriate roles to ensure the successful completion of special ad hoc projects and initiatives.

  • Ensure quality of sales data by investigating conflicting sources of truth, conducting data audits/mapping, and assessing the value, breadth, and depth of new data sources.

  • Lead the implementation of new sales tools and processes (e.g., CRM), including management of rollout processes and sales training.

  • Support all sales planning, forecasting and target setting processes.

  • Work with marketing to support development of competitive intelligence processes to collect and evaluate competitive actions, customer win-loss experience, other relevant customer relationship measures (e.g., Net Promoter Score).

  • Manage the analysis of sales performance trends, create methodologies to accurately forecast short and long-term sales performance, and support Senior Management in developing annual sales targets.

  • Become a key player in the building of a high-performance sales culture.

    Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field, MBA or equivalent advanced degree preferred

  • At least 10 years' of outside sales and/or commercial operations or administration experience in an aerospace business to business environment

  • Highly analytical and develops recommendations based on quantitative facts

  • Strong analytical skills, with particular attention to our leading and trailing performance indicators.

  • Experience with one or more leading CRM tools / application

  • Experience or familiarity with data management and visualisation tools

  • Strong leadership and team management skills.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

  • Capable of working well in a global cross-functional team

  • Creative mindset with the ability to think commercially

  • Results oriented with a strong focus on achieving measurable outcomes
