Full Job Description

The Commercial Operations team ensures that all Commercials, Teleshopping and Sponsorship schedules are all scheduled correctly and meet all compliance requirements. The team is responsible for working with the sales team and creative agencies making sure campaigns are booked and scheduled correctly to ensure we help maximise commercial revenue. We ensure that the schedule is compliant to the BCAP code checking for commercial clashes and restrictions across all ITV channels including ITV1, ITV2, ITV3, ITV4 and ITV Be. The team then makes sure the commercial schedules are all logged post transmission and sent to BARB. The Role As a Commercial Operations Senior Scheduler, you are responsible for ensuring commercial information is full, accurate, and incorporated into the schedule within the required time-scales, working with a cross-functional team and the wider department. You will also assist the Commercial Ops Managers with the coordination and development of the Commercial Ops Schedulers and you will also be on call every six weeks to provide out of hours support. This will involve:

  • Assisting the Commercial Ops Assistant Managers in over-seeing the day-to-day coordination and output of a team of Schedulers
  • Learning all channels, and having the ability to cover for other Senior Schedulers
  • Standing in for the Commercial Ops Assistant Managers if required (meetings and holidays)
  • Sequencing Commercial items in optimum sequence based on strategy, regulatory and look & feel guidelines
  • Providing Delivery with schedule information in a timely manner to enable the material and meta data to be found and delivered on time
  • Representing Commercial Operations at meetings where required
  • Working on a rota with other Seniors and Managers being on call for any out of hours issues and making changes to the schedule when necessary.
  • Chasing and Scheduling rotation instructions for commercials upon receiving a sales booking
  • Reconciling commercial information by matching rotation instructions from an Agency to a sales campaign (by specified criteria)
  • Monitoring and Uploading Caria and emailed instructions from Agencies
  • Validating the commercial schedule against Agency requirements
  • Resolving any consequent problems or errors
  • Complying the schedule by meeting regulatory and other scheduling requirements using ASA and BCAP information
  • Ensure the finalised transmission schedule takes into account all sales, broadcaster and copy requirements
  • Ensure all commercial material is delivered to Transmission within required timescales
  • Performing slot dependant compliance for the junction items in the context of the schedule
  • Liaising with Compliance to assess whether news stories will affect the suitability of certain commercials scheduled in and around the News.
  • Re-sequencing the commercial items if required
  • Updating the sales scheduling systems with the discrepancies between planned and transmitted schedules to ensure we've captured a complete record of what was actually broadcasted
  • Post transmission all spots must have the correct transmission time applied and any failures in transmission must be dealt with and communicated to the relevant departments
  • Reporting on the transmitted schedule to internal and external parties
  • KPI Reporting to the Commercial Ops Managers
  • Escalating any issues to the Commercial Ops Managers where appropriate
