We are currently looking for an enthusiastic individual to join our Bespoke Commercial team in the position of Commercial Quality Control Manager.

The primary objective of the role is to ensure that company quality systems specific to the Bespoke business are delivered such that we comply with the requirements set out within the ISO 9001 certification, Factory Process Control, and any additional specific customer contractual and regulatory needs.

The role has primary responsibility for ensuring that through robust checks and processes, the requirements of the customer are fully understood and translated into a format which the operations team can follow and ultimately deliver. An assessment of the operational capability to undertake the works from both a manufacturing and quality requirements shall be understood.

The role is also client and customer facing ensuring that positive relationships are maintained. The role shall ensure commercial quality control focus on prevention of issues arising and where problems do occur, that these are dealt with efficiently through defined NCR processes. Where appropriate, issues shall be escalated for technical or process improvement support.

Within the Bison business, there is a requirement to ensure that drawings are controlled and aligned to manufacturing process' and as such controls and checks are in place to maintain quality requirements.

Your duties would include but not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for providing the contractual interface in relation to quality aspects of our customers' requirements.

  • Interfacing with the operations quality team such that our product offering can be produced to the customer requirements.

  • Drive a cultural improvement in the Bespoke business through the implementation of a Right First-Time approach and quality accountability / responsibility.

  • Ensuring that the "Key Fundamentals" of our management processes are delivered without compromise.

  • Development and review of SOPs for Bespoke commercial functions.

  • Raising non-conformances through the required process, either internal or on customer systems.

  • Providing feedback to the operational quality team with regard to customer issues and complaints.

  • Ensuring Standard Operating Procedures and suitable controls are followed by the commercial teams operating under the Bespoke business.

  • Lead process audits against the commercial quality management plan to confirm adherence to the standard required

  • ISO 9001 non-conformity resolution and attendance during third- and second-party quality audits.

  • Verification that the operations quality team are collecting and analysing the appropriate test data and that Inspection and Test Plans are being adhered to.

  • Develop leading Indicators and KPI's to identify areas for improvement.

  • Be involved in client customer visits pertaining to finished product issues.

  • Suitable containment of issues and where recurring themes arise ensure that these are escalated into project activity for the Technical and Process Improvement team to help identify the root cause and develop countermeasure against them.

    At least 5 years operating an ISO 9001 quality management system.

  • Working knowledge of developing and delivering performance against agreed KPI's

  • At least 5 years working within the Precast Concrete sector in a senior quality of technical role

  • Familiar with development of Quality Management Plans.

  • Experience of developing inspection and test plans., Auditing Awareness preferable to lead auditor standard

  • ISO 9001 Awareness

  • Diploma in Concrete Technology or equivalent (Ideal)

  • Continuous improvement qualifications or demonstratable experience

  • Strong systems and IT skills (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
