Full Job Description

  • Execute and assist in the preparation of high-quality dishes, ensuring adherence to established recipes and maintaining the hotel's culinary standards.
  • Oversee a designated section or station in the kitchen, ensuring that all items are prepared, cooked, and presented according to the executive chef's specifications.
  • Conduct regular inspections of ingredients, finished dishes, and presentation to ensure consistency and uphold the hotel's culinary excellence.
  • Assist in the training and development of Commis Chefs and kitchen assistants, providing guidance on proper techniques, recipes, and kitchen procedures.
  • Collaborate with the Chef de Partie and Sous Chef in contributing ideas and suggestions for menu development, incorporating creativity and keeping up with culinary trends.
  • Support the management of kitchen inventory by monitoring stock levels, assisting in the ordering process, and minimizing wastage to optimize cost efficiency.
  • Ensure strict compliance with the hotel's culinary standards, policies, and procedures, maintaining a focus on continuous improvement in food quality and service.
  • Strictly adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, following proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices to ensure a safe and clean working environment.
  • Coordinate with front-of-house staff and other kitchen teams to address guest feedback, preferences, and ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Execute assigned sections of the menu during service periods, displaying precision, speed, and consistency in food preparation and presentation.

    The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
  • Knowledge and adherence to food safety and hygiene practices, including relevant certifications, to maintain a safe and sanitary kitchen environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced kitchen environment, displaying flexibility in handling various tasks and collaborating effectively with different team members.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with other kitchen staff, chefs, and support teams, contributing to a positive and cohesive culinary team.
  • Exceptional attention to detail in food preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency and meeting the high-quality standards expected in a luxury hotel setting.
  • Demonstrated creativity in culinary endeavors, including the ability to contribute innovative ideas to menu development and adapt to changing culinary trends.
  • Understanding and appreciation for the high standards of service and presentation expected in a 5-star luxury hotel, with a commitment to maintaining and elevating these standards.
