Full Job Description

Integrated Brokerage is responsible for sourcing Adult Social Care services from external care providers both within and beyond Gloucestershire. Together with other teams within the Council and partner organisations, we play a key part in monitoring and paying for those services along with managing the market to ensure market availability and sustainability into the future.

In this role you'll be part of a dynamic and supportive team of people currently office based in Shire Hall but with some flexibility to work remotely based on business need. We are a dynamic team who work closely to manage and monitor the independent provider market for older people and working age adults and this job will particularly involve providing administrative support to seven contract managers and senior managers. You will work alongside the wider Brokerage team and colleagues across Adult Social Care to investigate and interrogate queries and will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the queries in-box and will have responsibility for the maintenance of provider information and will be expected to interrogate a number of GCC systems. We all work hard and have a common interest in supporting vulnerable people and the organisations we have commissioned to provide them with care and support.

Please also note the wider Brokerage team provides cover over seven days to support hospital discharge and respond to emergent situations, therefore occasional weekend working from home may be required but rarely in this role and this comes with time off in lieu and an enhanced rate of pay.

About you:

To enjoy this role, you'll be a confident communicator with initiative and a keen eye for detail and problem solving, particularly when working with data and online systems. A key task will be the management of our shared mailbox and other worktrays, distributing and escalating incoming correspondence. You'll need to be organised, aware of team priorities and able to follow up in writing or by phone, adapting your communication style as appropriate, appreciating the needs of our stakeholders. You should have financial acumen and be familiar with financial processing, and working with personal and sensitive records, and these will be part of your daily experience in the team. You will have interest in the welfare of older people and working age adults receiving support.

Our values are at the heart of everything we do and how we treat each other. They provide essential guiding principles about the way that we work and set the tone for our culture, and identify what we, as an organisation, care about. Read more about our values on our website.

If you hold the same behaviours and approach, then we want to hear from you! In exchange, we will provide you with full training and support to help you succeed in your role.

We want to be an employer of choice, attracting and retaining excellent people to work for us, so that we can best serve all of Gloucestershire's diverse communities. Our promise to you is that we will provide an inclusive and supportive working environment that enables you to bring your whole self to work and realise your full potential.

It is a legal requirement, under the Immigration Act 2016, that anyone appointed to a 'customer facing role' must be able to demonstrate an ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence in fluent English.

Hybrid working arrangements are available for the majority of our roles, giving teams the opportunity to work in a way that suits them, balancing service need and individual choice, with a mix of both remote and office working.
