Full Job Description

The Main responsibilities of the Commissioning Executive are:

  • To work closely with the Senior Head of Commissioning and the Commissioning Editor to identify, develop, commission and deliver top quality, original animated content from suppliers both in the UK and around the world.
  • Ensure that the development of ideas meets the needs of our modern audience and that content is appropriate to its target age group and reflects the diverse nature and needs of our audiences
  • To be an ambassador for CBeebies and a touch point for the Animation community within Northern Ireland, rest of UK and globally.
  • Being responsible for giving feedback on designated current series in a timely manner whilst maintaining a respectful relationship with indies.
  • Strong decision maker with the ability to articulate reasoning behind editorial choices.
  • Good sense of the modern commercial, business and co-production environment.

    Excellent editorial and creative judgement with an established track record in Children's commissioning or production (0-6 years old) with a particular focus on Animation
  • Thorough understanding of the audience and wider competitive kids' landscape and current trends.
  • Good production knowledge with a proven record of successful programme making across a variety of animation styles and genres.
  • Experience of a production pipeline from development through to delivery.
  • Experience of working with complex co-production partnerships and financing deal structure
  • Sound editorial judgment and knowledge of editorial policy and fair trading issues.
