Full Job Description
We are currently recruiting for a 2 day a week commissioning officer to join our Disabled Children's Service in support of direct payments for families., Working as a Commissioning Officer within the team your aim will be to deliver a targeted and tailored support to vulnerable children and their families to achieve better outcomes through provision of a direct payment package of support. You will undertake early help reviews for children in receipt of a direct payment and work closely with families in developing the right level of support and tracking of financial commitments. You will engage parents through creative and innovative strategies, in line with partner agencies and organisations. This will included managing accounts, reclaiming funds, supporting colleagues and negotiating with external providers. This is a part time role, working over 2 days
- We are looking for someone who is experienced in working with direct payments as a method of support to families.
- You will have experience of working with children, young people, families, and communities and of working with multi-agency assessments and plans.

About our team The Disabled Children's Team support children and young people who are aged 0- 18 years old with significant needs arising from their disability. The team aims to ensure that disabled children and their families have access to a needs led services that promotes resilience, co-production and improves children's life chances. To do this the team will work with partners to make sure that every child has an accurate assessment of need; with a plan that sets out how support will be delivered, with the aim to improve outcomes.
