Full Job Description

  • Leading a team of Electrical Engineers in the Weapons Test Section
  • Planning and supervising commissioning activities
  • Overseeing Electrical Rip outs for the weapons section
  • Reviewing and authoring test documentation in relation to the weapons test section
  • Reviewing and planning training and development of electrical engineers within the section
  • Deputising for the weapons Managers in their absence and act as temporary lead, covering all weapons section meeting
  • Be a signing member of the weapons test group
  • Liaising with other test departments to ensure safe control of work, As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for the administration, technical control & development of personnel in consistently achieving the following; Departmental goals, Performance metrics expectations, Milestones in accordance with the Contract Delivery Programme. You will have an opportunity to lead & manage a team of Engineers within the Weapons Test Section, coordinating input of information to the team from all engineering functions. You will be working on an advanced weapons equipment, requiring a high specialist focus.

  • Good knowledge of either Sonar, Navigation, Command Systems or external communications systems from either commissioning or maintaining experience
  • Good understanding of installations and final installation inspection process of weapons electrical systems
  • Ideally experience of spice, SAP or P6
  • Good understanding and experience of Safe Systems of Work
  • Experience of reviewing electrical and weapons technical documentation and drawings
  • Previous Team leader/Supervisory experience
  • Ideally have a min of HNC in an Electrical Engineering subject
