Full Job Description

Location: Barrow-in-Furness - we offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements - please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.
Salary: £45,628+ depending on experience
What you'll be doing:
+ Provide technical and behavioural leadership of Propulsion Test Section - Mechanical
+ Responsible for research, compilation, reviews & feedback of appropriate documentation to the required standard
+ Represent the Company internally & externally as required by contractual agreements
+ Responsible for delivering assigned activities in line with Company policy, procedures and legislation
+ Identify the required team resource & experience to your Line Manager
+ Lead and develop the team to achieve the programme requirements & objectives implementing performance measures
+ Provide expertise, advice and guidance by acting as a Subject Matter Expert for the Authorisation Group
+ Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of planning activities
+ Perform the role of line management to those Engineers identified in your hierarchy and demonstrate management behaviours

+ Degree/HNC/HND in an Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
+ Previous experience of been a key person in their department beyond their peer group for their technical knowledge & competence
+ Detailed knowledge of safety controls & procedures in a high risk operational environment
+ Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Testing and Pressure & Endurance Testing
Desirable:
+ Experience with SAP and Teamcenter
+ Knowledge and understanding to provide technical guidance to Gas, Steam, Fluid & Fire Fighting Systems
+ In-depth understanding and experience of delivery, with the ability to achieve key milestones

The Test & Commissioning (T&C) Team:
As a Commissioning Project Lead - Mechanical, you will Manage a Test Section & all associated activities, which is delivering as part of a wider Test & Commissioning (T&C) programme or project consisting of several major engineering systems, commissioning disciplines, platform assemblies, equipment or software products. This role will provide you with the opportunity to be involved in the design stage of submarine development and the implementation and realisation of test commissioning strategy and provide input to support the delivery phases.
