Full Job Description

To participate in the provision of medical equipment acquisition approvals and commissioning within Clinical Engineering at Nottingham UniversityHospitals NHS Trust. This will include the identification, acquisition, planning, commissioning, deployment and management of new andreplacement devices following a strict compliant acquisition and approval process prior to adoption of equipment.The post holder will work as partof a larger team to process complex device information of both clinical and technical natures.The post holder must have the ability tocommunicate with NHS and medical device industry stakeholders to help support the Medical Equipment Planning Unit (MEPU) team activity. The post holder will be based at the City Campus but may be required to work at other locations., The postholder will be bound by relevant professional standards and Trust policies in performing the duties of their post.The postholder will be required to use computing and VDU equipment for significant periods of time on most days.The postholder will be exposed to light engineering workshop activities, including exposure to live electricity, subject to specific health and safetyregulations.The postholder will occasionally have to handle equipment weighing up to 15kg.The postholder will frequently have to concentrate for prolonged periods when working on, for example, the acquisition approval and/orcommissioning of complex medical equipment.The postholder will have contact with clinical staff and patients.
