Full Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Commissioning & Warranty Technical Supervisor to join us in our brand-new rail manufacturing facility in Goole. Reporting to the Commissioning & Warranty Operations Manager, you will lead a team of Technicians to deliver project phases for all UK new Rolling Stock Introduction Programmes including Highspeed, Commuter Rail, Metro, Light Rail and Passenger Coaches. We are looking for someone with previous supervisory experience, someone who is self-motivated and eager to learn new skills as projects develop. There will also be a need to travel and being away from home for periods of time due to training needs, i.e., test centre in Wildenrath, Germany or other locations in the UK depending on where the project work is located. You'll make a difference by

  • Supervising the team to deliver operational commissioning and ensure a smooth transition of a new fleet into our customer's passenger service operation.
  • Monitoring train activities such as routine testing, static and dynamic testing and preparing test documentation with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Identifying any risks and opportunities of the project with focus on time, cost, and quality.
  • Working on maintenance activities, identifying and rectifying any faults and escalating to supplier or engineering teams if needed
  • Managing, coaching and mentoring your team to develop skills and achieve best outcomes.
  • Being aware of health and safety at work, implement controls and encouraging others to take accountability.

    Leader, Manager or Supervisor with previous experience of working within rail fleet maintenance environment.
  • Someone who is analytical with problem solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Someone with good project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Someone who can motivate teams using coaching and mentoring techniques.
  • Excellent communicator with an ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Someone who is keen to develop personally and professionally and embrace continual learning.
