Full Job Description
The team are primarily responsible for ensuring accurate execution of trades in a timely and efficient manner. The Commodities businesses transact high volumes across many different markets including Oil, Precious Metals, Base Metals, Softs, Power, Freight & Emissions. Support provided to these desks include but are not limited to, daily reconciliation of exchange positions, deal checks and problem resolution via liaison with Sales & Trading and other support teams. Middle Office need to ensure that there is a continual focus on control throughout the trade process, monitoring deals and amendments to ensure they are booked correctly, while constantly driving improvements to existing processes. The Commodities Middle Office Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for providing analytic and administrative support to the Commodities Sales & Trading business. The role will be primarily concentrated on coverage of the Exotic Commodities desk, providing key support across Structured Derivatives and Debt Securities. The post holder will interact extensively with Desk Heads, Salespeople and Traders to actively manage risk issues and solve problems, while also working closely with a diverse group of support and control functions. What you will do
- Process securities transactions, provide analytic input for traders and aid in review of derivative products.
- Utilise data analysis tools and methodologies, in conjunction with professional judgement to make process improvement recommendations.
- Resolve settlement related issues and escalate as needed; recommend solutions to resolve complex issues.
- Participate in the implementation of assigned projects, including new products, services, and upgrades to platforms.
- Identify policy gaps and formulate new policies to enhance the streamlining of trade flow processes.
- Monitor and provide solutions to errors to minimise risk to the bank.
- Provide informal guidance, and/or on the job training to new team members.
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgement regarding personal behaviour, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing, and reporting control issues with transparency.
Prior relevant experience - An understanding of Exotic Commodity/Equity products preferred.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
