We are looking for someone to join the Procurement team. This role is pivotal to the success of ensuring we meet our customers' expectations for their projects and will give you the opportunity to add value across a wide spectrum of our business activities including Business Development, Procurement, Planning and Supply Chain.

Reporting into the Head of Supply Chain, this role would suit an existing buyer with some technical understanding or someone with a manufacturing, quality or engineering background and an interest developing their expertise in Supply Chain activities.

As part of your role your primary role will be the following:

Technical Supply Chain

  • Responsible for the procurement of non-electronic component buying tasks. These include (but not limited to) PCBs, Metalwork, Special Processes (Re-ball / Hot solder dip), Programming of devices, Parylene Coating Services and Consumable materials for production.

  • Provide advice and guidance on the following processes; PCB and Metalwork Drawings and First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and act as subject matter expert within the team.

  • Lead the procurement team's understanding of counterfeit avoidance

  • Assist in satisfactory closure of MRB cases to ensure a material "ready to build" state is achieved.


  • Secondary to your primary role will be the following:

    Purchasing
  • Ensure that material items are procured on-time, using IFS (Axis ERP System) and in accordance with available quotations to arrive in time for Manufacturing activities.


  • Supply Chain Management
  • Manage all orders with supply chain, to ensure that parts are arriving in time for Shop Order planned start date.

  • Provide solutions to Supply Chain issues and queries as appropriate.

  • Effectively communicate to the planning team, when orders are not able to arrive in time - so that Shop Order and Customer Orders dates can be managed as appropriate

  • Ensure that Part Obsolescence is effectively communicated from Supply Chain to the Customer base.

    Experience within engineering, manufacturing or quality with an understanding of technical drawings and processes OR

  • Experience within procurement and an interest in technical components.

  • Committed to working towards a common goal as part of a team

  • Excellent IT Skills; the ability to manipulate data using MS Excel and can develop a good working knowledge of the Enterprise Resource Planner (ERP), IFS
