Full Job Description
COMMUNICATION SUPPORT ASSISTANT FOR DEAF STUDENTS Hours of work are 8.20am to 3pm, Monday to Friday, term time only, 30 hours and 25 minutes per week BSL Level 3: £18,777 - £19,679 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement BSL Level 6: £20,311 - £22,003 per annum, inclusive of Crawley Market Supplement We are looking for an engaging and motivated person who can sign at BSL Level 3 or above, to join our team of Communication Support Assistants, who support deaf students.
- The role will involve supporting students in lessons as well as working 1:1 with students and running small group intervention sessions
- You should have a good standard of education with excellent literacy and numeracy skills
- Classroom experience or experience of working with young deaf people will be an advantage
- Being aware of how to help deaf students access the curriculum is essential
- The successful candidate will be offered a place on an accredited BSL course. Support and training will be provided as necessary.
- BSL level 6 is preferred but we will consider candidates who have BSL Level 3.
