Full Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and supportive Communications Support Worker to join our supportive and collaborative team.
As a Communication Support Worker you will play a vital role in facilitating effective communication on a 1:1 basis for a hearing impaired child in our school.
Your main responsibilities will include:
+ Providing support during classes and various school activities, ensuring they have full access to the curriculum
+ Assisting in the delivery of educational materials through sign language interpretation or other appropriate communication methods
+ Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
+ Encouraging the development communication skills and independence
+ Building rapport and trust, fostering a nurturing and respectful relationship

This post is fixed- term/temporary due to supporting a named child with an Education, Health, Care Plan. The contract will terminate on a specified date or sooner should the pupil no longer need the same level of support or if funding is withdrawn.

+ Qualified in British Sign Language (BSL) or Signature registered BSL Level 1 or above
