Communications and Engagement Manager

This is an exciting time to join the Council. With a new Council Plan in place setting ambitious priorities for the next four years, we have invested in our internal communications team and this new post will be responsible for how we tell and showcase our journey.
Working closely with the Leadership Team, Elected Members and other colleagues across the Council, you will lead and take ownership for the way we engage with our community and workforce, establish and promote a corporate brand and develop our Communications and Engagement Strategy.
You will shape the narrative of the Council, changing the way people see and understand our work. To be successful in this role you will be able to see the bigger picture and deal with fast moving and changing scenarios. An experienced and qualified communications professional, your track record will evidence how you can lead a team to deliver strategic outcomes and have a good understanding of working in a political environment.
As the lead communications expert, you will have exemplary interpersonal skills, be creative and a leadership style focused on people, inclusivity, continuous improvement and provide strong levels of governance to enhance and protect the reputation of the Council.
