Full Job Description
We're looking for a creative and dynamic communications specialist to lead on internal and external communications strategies to help evolve our culture and support our reputation as an employer of choice. The role includes leading on or sponsoring the development and delivery of internal communications and engagement activities for a programme of People and Culture priorities, including fairness, inclusion and belonging, wellbeing, induction, recognition and celebrations. It also includes supporting recruitment priorities and developing and reinforcing our family business's reputation through external communications strategies and activities, including building our approach to employee advocacy, content creation and thought leadership. Working creatively and collaboratively will come naturally to you, and you'll be as comfortable in the strategy and planning as the hands-on comms work. You'll have a broad range of comms skills including message development, content creation, media engagement, channel development and event and project management.
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a communications role, preferably covering both internal and external communications.
- Experience of developing and delivering communications and engagement strategies that support employee value proposition and employer brand.
- Strategic and creative thinking, along with a passion for contemporary communications theory and practice.
- Strong experience in a wide range of communications disciplines including messaging frameworks, content creation, project and event management, channel development, and reputation building.
- Brilliant written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to produce and publish a wide variety of content for a range of platforms and varying audiences; ability to transform complex and technical issues into simple and engaging content.
- Ability to form strong alliances with internal stakeholders to agree priorities, set objectives and support impactful communication strategies.
- The ability to work in both the long and short term, and at both the strategic and detail level.
- Experience of leading and coaching others.
