Full Job Description

  • Provides technical, administrative, and operational leadership to assigned project or task(s).
  • Reviews status of projects and budgets, manages schedules, and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for scope, cost, schedule, and performance of assigned project or task(s).
  • Manages or directs resources required to perform assigned project or task(s)., Performs Plans, Process, and Policy Support and provides Project Management Support.
  • Plans, Process, and Policy Support:
  • Analyze strategic level guidance, such as program action directives, program guidance letters, programming plans, wing plans, or reference
    • architectures to develop planning documents, transition strategies, and policies to meet and implement program objectives.
  • Support the staff in developing a future roadmap or architecture and associated Concept of Operations (CONOPS).
  • Analyze communications/IT requirements to determine validity, completeness, accuracy, or feasibility for implementation. Resolve
    • discrepancies with appropriate agencies to meet objectives. Document unresolved discrepancies and post discrepancy details.
  • Research and document proposed infrastructure and system topologies including architecture, system connectivity, and interoperability.
  • Recommend standards, procedures, and enhancements for implementation and maintenance of new technologies.
  • Review and coordinate on the technical content of design proposals for the construction or renovation of facilities, technical quality of
    • equipment to be installed, installation of equipment, and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provide expert advice on equipment specifications, capabilities, and operational procedures, providing guidance for selection and acquisition
    • of Command, Control, Communications, Computer, Collaboration and Intelligence (C5I) equipment and infrastructure.
  • Design proposals, draft segments of planning, transition, and policy documents using applicable directives and industry best practices, such
    • as IT Service Management (ITSM) processes within the ITIL framework, following DoD and Air Force policy and guidance.
  • Project Management Support:
  • Perform project management tasks to support implementation and sustainment of project-related technologies and strategic plans.
  • Develop project implementation plans for all approved and funded strategic plans, and interface with appropriate staff and outside agencies
    • to execute those plans. In developing implementation plans, compare current capabilities with requirements in order to address shortfalls, areas for future concentration, and total cost of ownership.
  • Provide estimates for planning, programming, and budgeting for infrastructure upgrades and/or equipment purchase requirements.
  • Ensure communications systems architecture, configuration, and integration conformity by coordinating engineering data.
  • Manage implementation of communication systems projects.
  • Facilitate planning meetings, video- and teleconferences.
  • Coordinate site surveys with internal and external agencies. Prepare site survey results and present briefings.
  • Coordinate the allocation and/or placement of resources, prepare/review equipment and facility specifications, monitor/resolve technical
    • communication problems and/or conduct operational acceptance.
  • Create, gather, and report on metrics for all systems with open projects.
  • Conduct weekly project meetings for all open projects., Certifications: Possess and maintain Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).

    Information Technology Project Management,Planning Ability,Project Implementations,Project Management,Project Planning, 7 + years of related experience, Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university which provides substantial knowledge of the information sciences or with a
    • curriculum or major field of study which provides substantial knowledge useful in managing the work specified by the task order(s). Such degrees might be, but should not be limited to, the disciplines of computer science, information systems, physical science, engineering, a mathematics intensive discipline or business. Candidate must also possess three (3) years' relevant experience.
  • Education and experience requirements may be substituted with:
    • Associated Degree and seven (7) years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to the task.
  • No degree and 11 years of intensive and progressive experience demonstrating the required proficiency levels related to the task.
    • Preferred Experience:
  • Additional experience strongly desired in the following areas:
  • Data Center Architecture
  • Cloud-Based Computing and Services
  • Technical writing
  • System Developmental Lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Development of SDLC life cycle management plans

    The likely salary range for this position is $101,566 - $131,942. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
