Full Job Description

As the Communications Specialist, Private Equity & Clean Energy, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the firm's investment-related communications strategy, with a strong focus on external promotion and, to a lesser extent, internal communications. This role requires a seasoned communicator with deep expertise in financial communications, public relations, and content development, specifically within investment strategies like Private Equity (Primaries, Secondaries, Co-Investment) and Clean Energy. You will collaborate closely with the Chief Marketing Communications Officer and the Corporate Marketing & Communications Specialist to ensure the firm's messaging around its investment strategies and products is clear, consistent, and aligned with business objectives.Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the company's Private Equity and Clean Energy communication strategies that enhance the firm's brand, reputation, and fundraising efforts, targeting media, clients, business partners, and employees.
  • Partner with subject matter experts from the Private Equity and Clean Energy teams to produce a steady stream of thought leadership content, driven by a tailored strategy with regional focus and execution.
  • Work with local PR agencies in key regions (UK/EU, US, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, and RoW) to develop and execute tailored PR strategies.
  • Draft and distribute press releases, whitepapers, newsletters, and other communication materials in collaboration with Private Equity and Clean Energy investment managers, as well as senior executives, to create compelling, newsworthy content.
  • Provide media training for spokespersons, including investment managers and C-level executives, in collaboration with PR agencies, ensuring they are well-prepared for interviews with tailored talking points and messaging.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media outlets, journalists, and industry influencers relevant to Private Equity and Clean Energy investing.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements in various jurisdictions to ensure compliance, while implementing impactful Private Equity and Clean Energy communication strategies.
  • Prepare investment-related materials for Annual Investor Meetings, client and media events.
  • Develop and refine language for investment-specific content across various marketing channels, including award submissions, the website, and webinars, ensuring consistency with brand messaging.
  • Support the firm's social media presence by creating investment-specific content and engaging with the community in partnership with the Marketing Specialist.
  • Review and edit investment-specific content from internal stakeholders, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with the company's tone of voice and messaging guidelines.
  • Monitor and analyze media coverage and industry trends to keep stakeholders informed, using these insights to shape communication strategies for Private Equity and Clean Energy.
  • Support crisis communication efforts related to investment strategies, developing holding statements, talking points, and Q&A materials to safeguard the firm's reputation.

    Extensive experience in financial communications, with a strong understanding of investment strategies (Private Equity and Clean Energy / renewables.
  • Previous experience collaborating with investment teams.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Significant experience managing PR agencies and engaging directly with media and journalists.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking in media management and content development.
  • Proven ability to develop thought leadership content, including trend analysis and newsworthy narratives based on subject matter expertise.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with various communication tools and platforms.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field, with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the financial industry.
  • Languages:
  • Must be fluent in English and display superior writing skills.
  • Additional language skills, preferably Italian, German, French and Spanish are highly desirable.
