Full Job Description

Get Golfing CIO is looking for a Communities and Charity Officer to join our team at Pyrford Lakes Golf Club and Hampton Court Palace GC. As a sports charity organisation, we are dedicated to supporting struggling English golf facilities and making a positive impact on local communities. In this role, you will play a vital role in engaging with the local community, organising charitable events, and promoting the benefits of golf and our facilities.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing community engagement strategies.

  • Building and maintaining relationships with community organisations, local businesses, and charities.

  • Organising and coordinating charitable events, fundraisers, and community outreach programs.

  • Working with internal teams and members to promote and market our facilities and events to the community.

  • Managing and distributing funds for charitable initiatives and programs.

  • Keeping up-to-date with local community needs and identifying opportunities for support and involvement.

  • Monitoring and evaluating the impact of our community initiatives.


  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for golf and coaching, community engagement, exceptional communication skills, and experience in organising and coordinating events. You should also have a good understanding of the golf industry and the benefits it can bring to communities. You should enjoy working with children, young people and people with Special Education Needs.

    This role involves trying to break down barriers to golf and working with groups of people that would not normally be able to access golf so easily.

    We would like you to view our Get Golfing website and read about our community and charity work to help gain an understanding of out work before any application is made.

    You should be prepared to take ownership of your allocated sites but you will need to assist at some of our other clubs from time-to-time which will involve driving to other sites. This role is part of a wider Communities and Charities team of whom are all dedicated to their work and love working with people from the club members, to school children, to people in the wider community.

  • Prior experience in community engagement or charity work.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.

  • Knowledge of the golf industry and its impact on local communities.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events.

  • Working from home and Golf Club based.

  • Must be able to travel to the two main allocated sites and our other clubs on occasion.
