Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, well-motivated, forward-thinking Community Associate Practitioner/Trainee to work as part of our team - We work with young people with moderate to severe mental health problems living in the Middlesbrough area., The team is multi-disciplinary and provides mental health assessments, treatment and interventions for young people suffering from moderate to severe complex emotional, behavioural and psychological issues resulting in mental health problems.

Experience of working clinically within Mental Health and Neurodevelopmental needs is essential.

You will work as part of a team but will need to be confident in your own clinical decision making skills. You will work with a range of professionals from a variety of different agencies including social care, schools, acute care and a range of community and voluntary sector partners.

The successful individual will need a Foundation Degree in Health and Social Care and Literacy and Numeracy Level 2 or equivalent to be recruited into the position on Band 4. If the successful applicant has not got the Foundation Degree, they will be appointed on a temporary trainee contract on Agenda for Change Band 3. Applicants applying to be trainees will need to have the NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care 3 and literacy and numeracy level 2., The Associate Practitioner training programme will last 2 years during which time individuals will be expected to complete the Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care and meet the required competencies of the role.

Following successful completion of the training programme and the two years' experience the individual will transfer to Agenda for Change Band 4.
