Full Job Description

Ipswich Borough Council provides a Community Caretaking service that assists with the upkeep of the communal areas within the council owned properties. The aim for the Community Caretaking team is to make the estates cleaner and safer places to live., An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time caretaker within our caretaking service. This role will be based at Layard House, Hadleigh Road within the caretaking team. Working in a small team you will assist with cleaning and patrolling communal areas. The team are responsible for maintaining standards of cleaning across the stock. As part of the team, you will assist with community projects and engagement across the town. You will be expected to engage with the public and various departments at Ipswich Borough Council.

You should be educated to GCSE level or hold an NVQ Level 2 or have one year's experience in a technical field. You should also have experience of cleansing practices. You should be a team player who is able to prioritise and work to deadlines. You will hold a driving license and should be able to carry out manual tasks/lift reasonable weights.

There may be the requirement to work outside of normal hours so you should have a flexible approach to the service needs., Disability Confident
