Full Job Description

The Community Connections Officer is a creative role working with Locality Managers and their teams to help the people we support connect their communities in the way that they choose., Your main duties will include:

  • To identify and or develop a range of local volunteering, occupational and enterprise opportunities for people who have learning disabilities and/or autism
  • ·To work with the people, we support to identify or co-produce a range of social, networking and occupational opportunities, and opportunities for informal support.
  • ·To find and develop ways for people we support, families and colleagues to give their time to support local communities, the third sector and the environment.
  • ·Collect evidence of social impact activities and promote the value of these to people we support, local organisations, commissioners and funders., As Disability Confident Leaders , we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy - Dimensions has been awarded this symbol by Jobcentre Plus to recognise our commitment towards the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees

    The successful applicant will have:
  • Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities and Autism
  • Experience of successfully developing and delivering projects.
  • Knowledge of the voluntary sector and volunteering best practice
  • Possess excellent planning and organisational skills
