We're VIVID! -We offer a vibrant, friendly, inclusive culture that supports, develops and attracts the best people!, As Community Development Officer, you'll work closely with a variety of teams within the business to ensure the effective creation, implementation, delivery, and review of innovative community investment projects required within the North Town community (which support the work required within the associated section 106 documentation). You'll work with external partners (i.e. councillors, local authorities) to build a positive environment for our customers to live in. The position requires the fostering and expansion of partnerships with community-based organisations, ensuring these relationships are managed and coordinated effectively. This involves overseeing the efficient allocation of resources and programme management within set budgets and timelines, aimed at addressing pressing community issues such as mental health, public transportation, and substance misuse. You'll conduct and present regular progress reviews detailing achievements against set objectives, to VIVID and Rushmoor Borough Council, in collaboration with residents. Secure external funding - including through supporting local groups in applying for grants and carrying out other fundraising activities. You'll carry out ad hoc site inspections on behalf of the business - including project sites, community centres to ensure community centres are effectively managed, comply with health and safety legislation and where managed externally are self-sustaining - providing suitable space for the development and delivery of social enterprises. The community development officer will have good awareness & understanding of the Social Housing sector, with an understanding of section 106 requirement & associated funding. You'll be proficient in Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) principles and practices, demonstrating an ability to leverage community strengths and resources for sustainable development. You'll bring a wealth of experience in developing & leading community projects and be confident in building relations with internal and external customers. Those who've recently applied need not apply again. You'll need to be able to travel between sites as part of your role, so you'll need a full current driving licence with access to a vehicle. We're recruiting for a Community Development Officer to join our team in Aldershot. This is a 5-year fixed term contract, working 37 hours per week, with specific objectives to be achieved in collaboration with the North Town community and organisational stakeholders. We offer a flexible approach to working between home and our offices. For the first month, we'd require you to attend the Basingstoke office 2 days per week for training purposes, you'll then be based at our North Town office so you can be closer to the community.
