This is a brand-new role which is critical to our future success in collecting Plasma donations. Through your efforts, you will be supporting the delivery of important Community Engagement activity for NHS Blood and Transplant that will save and improve peoples lives. As a Community Engagement Coordinator - Plasma, you will be working to help build our donor base of Plasma donors for one of our fantastic Plasma Donor Centres. As a great communicator you will help to educate people about the need for Plasma, its vital uses and how easy it is to donate. You will be working in the community in a range of locations from businesses to universities, liaising with prospective donors to inspire them to become donors. You will be required to create valuable relationships at pace, both internally and externally to ensure we secure an ongoing plan of activity within this critical pillar of work. You will also be using your organisational skills to coordinate and deliver events with the support of our talented events team. Your weekly schedule in this varied hybrid role will be a mixture of home working, NHSBT centre base working, and delivering field based activities within the local community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising and undertaking new acquisition and awareness activity, such as events in the community, on-session engagement with donors at the Plasma DC and exploring all relevant business development opportunities.
  • Approaching new businesses as agreed with their line manager / within the strategic plan to meet organisational objectives.
  • Developing key relationships with key third sector and corporate organisations within the region.
  • Managing relationships so that they provide maximum benefit to NHSBT.
  • Maintaining the Relationship Management database in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Promoting organ donation and other forms of donation where appropriate.
