Full Job Description

  • Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings

  • It is desirable that the post holder provides an appropriate means of transport for use in connection with the duties of this post

  • Any 4 & 5 day working patterns apply from any 7 days

  • Special working arrangements for Bank Holidays and Christmas working applies

  • Previous experience is desirable. Excellent communication skills, attention to detail and resilience would be core competencies held by the successful candidate.
    The post holder will provide a specialist environmental protection function for all aspects of the District Councils interest, geographical area and key assets. This includes the management and execution of all key legislative processes in reference to environmental enforcement.
    With a strong investigative skills and knowledge of all relevant UK environmental legislation, you will be able to to effectively conduct enforcement procedures under the Council's protocol for Environmental Protection.
    Previous experience of working in partnership other teams and external agencies as well as dealing with the management of difficult or sensitive situations, with excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to deal with the public in a confident and positive manner, dealing with enquiries, deescalating as appropriate.
    Experience working within UK environmental legislation, of carrying out and documenting investigations, including conducting interviews under the current Police and Criminal Evidence Act, would be desirable.
    With previous administration experience, particularly the maintaining of accurate records and the collation/interpretation of data you will contribute towards the successful outcome of enforcement cases., Disability Confident
