Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Barking and Dagenham Early Intervention service (EIP) for a 1 year fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

The team works with service user from age 14 and above who are presenting with a first episode in psychosis

Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) are multi-disciplinary teams set up to seek, identify and reduce treatment delays at the onset of psychosis and promote recovery by reducing the probability of relapse following a first episode of psychosis.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be required to work with Improving Physical Healthcare to Reduce Premature Mortality in People with Severe Mental Illness CQUIN target. The team are also required to meet the First Episode Psychosis Referral to Treatment targets which have both been agreed with NHS England and commissioners.

The successful candidate will be required to act as care coordinator for service users referred to EIP from CAMHs and to ensure contact and communication is maintained with the responsible CAMHS consultant psychiatrist and their medical teams.

The successful candidate will be required to advocate for, service users, carers and their family. They will also be required to work with inter-agency partners and colleagues

Starting with NELFTNELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
