Full Job Description

+ Working within our Forensic Community Team, across the boroughs of Camden, Islington, Barnet, Enfield and Haringey.
+ Providing OT assessment and intervention to patients detained under The Mental Health Act, 1983 (amended 2007), many of whom suffer from a severe and enduring mental illness and have a history of offending behaviour.
+ Working alongside a robust multi-disciplinary team including Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Dual Diagnoses, Employment Advisors, Peer Workers and Care Coordinators.
+ Liaising with internal and external services, e.g., Inpatient / OT teams, experts by experience, vocational and educational services, housing, etc.
+ The OT role focusses on functional daily living skills, establishing structured routines and managing specific mental health and risk issues.
+ Working alongside Band 4 Technical Instructors and Band 6 and 7 Occupational Therapists to deliver 1:1 session and a group programme to meet individual needs.
+ Due to this being a community patient-facing role, the post holder has the flexibility to work within the community, from home and from Chase Farm Hospital.

The service:
The NLFS provides comprehensive mental health rehabilitation to an adult population and the services includes The Learning Disability Pathway, Women's services, Forensic CHOICES Community Hub and Healthcare provision within prison services.
The Community Team provide care and support for patients on the discharge pathway or those living in the community, who have received care within medium and low security due to presenting with complex mental health needs and a forensic / offending history., North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) is committed to improving mental health care across North London to deliver excellent services to our local people.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington.
