Full Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you an excellent leader, highly motivated to develop others? Are you passionate about high quality service delivery and interventions for people with specialist mental health needs?

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic, and highly motivated Band 8a Community Operational Manager to manage some of the specialist teams across the Trust.

The position is to manage the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Perinatal Teams, Beacon Maternal Mental Health team, The Herefordshire Assertive Outreach Team, and Partner Repatriation Team. These services already provide an invaluable, high functioning specialist role, but we see this post as key to ongoing service development.

As operational leader of our teams, you must have a positive attitude towards innovation and change and a flexible approach to quality improvement initiatives. You need excellent interpersonal, team working and leadership skills with a commitment to working collaboratively with our stakeholders.

You will value continuing professional and practice development, service improvement and evaluation and the development of meaningful outcomes with our service user population.

Main duties of the job

You will:

Be an effective manager with a track record of delivering on objectives, a demonstrable patient-centred ethic, and the drive to develop yourself along with your service.

Aim to provide the highest quality care for our service users and stakeholders.

Lead a community-based, recovery-orientated mental health team ensuring that all resources, including staff, are used and monitored effectively while remaining within an agreed budget.

Actively participate in planning and developing the team, in order to provide service users with a person-centred approach relevant to their needs and a recovery focus.

Exercise your own judgement in complex situations relating to service delivery or organisational matters and have a high level of autonomy day to day to make the necessary decisions.

Utilize your expert opinion to select from a range of options in any given situation.

At Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, we are working together to deliver outstanding care. We run community hospitals and community health services across Worcestershire and provide mental health and learning disability services across both Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

Our people (all 4500+ of them) provide services for people of all ages, experiencing both physical and/or mental health conditions from over 100 sites.

We will support you to thrive; offer flexible working options for a great work-life balance, help you fulfil your ambitions, and empower you to make positive changes within your team or service. Its why we were named Large Apprenticeship Employer of the Year award at the 2022 Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards. We value diversity and encourage applications from people of all backgrounds, cultures, and ethnicities.
