Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen from a highly motivated and dynamic dietitian to join the Paediatric service in Powys Teaching Health Board (PTHB). Whilst some experience in Paediatrics is desirable, interest and passion to improving the health of Powys children is more important, and tailored training and support will be available. Candidates with less experience, but with excellent personal qualities and a positive attitude are welcomed, and Annex 21 framework to support development from Band 5 to Band 6 can be supported alongside Masters level study and clinical supervision. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and excellent communication skills are key., The successful candidate will be supported by administrators and an assistant, and will run general, CMPA and HEF paediatric clinics. There is ample opportunity to develop the service including CYP Weight Strategy, Building a Healthier Wales, ARFID and disordered eating, and the enteral feed contract. We also provide expert nutritional care to adult inpatients, outpatients, stroke & dialysis units, HEF patients, group DM and weight services, the team working collaboratively with shared goals. We embrace student training in collaboration with Cardiff University, and a culture to 'grow our own' professionals.

To act as part of the Dietetic team for the delivery of a comprehensive service to Powys. The post holder will work within the British Dietetic Association Professional Code of conduct and Professional Standards of Practice, and the HCPC code of conduct.

To be responsible for the continued delivery of an evidence-based nutrition and dietetic service. This will include outpatient clinics, ward visits, nursing home visits and telephone calls.

Prioritise patients in caseload and signpost as appropriate to other specialist services and/or agencies for ongoing treatment.

To work autonomously to provide an expert nutrition advice service to patients, their carers and families and to other healthcare professional colleagues and those from other agencies. This requires the collation of highly complex information in relation to both health and social care
