Full Job Description
We have an exciting opportunity for experienced occupational therapist to join our children's therapy service at LSCFT as we embark on the development of our clinical leadership positions. New team members will join a team of occupational therapist which has x6 admin bases across Central Lancashire and Pennine. The post is advertised as full time however; flexibility with hours can be considered.We are specifically looking for an Occupational Therapist with passion and drive to deliver effective services to children. We welcome applicants who wish to work as a part of a developing leadership team with existing clinical leads to shape the future of service provision.We are currently investing in a range of positions to ensure we achieve the best clinical outcomes for the population of children and young people in need of guidance, support and therapeutic intervention., As part of your role you will consider the impact of neurological, biomechanical and postural challenges on function and participation for children and young people with neurological and genetic conditions. You will have a particular interest in muscle tone, therapeutic handling and postural management.You will contribute to the development of an outcome focused pathway which integrates as appropriate with other disciplines/services. The pathway will consider timeliness and efficacy of hands on therapeutic approaches and compensatory strategies through childhood up to adulthood. The pathway will also consider how specialist provision fits within a system wide, graduated response.You will be based at Leyland House, Leyland. Alongside providing day to day support to the team at Leyland House, you will provide leadership across the three Central Teams (Chorley and South Ribble, Greater Preston, and West Lancashire).Your clinical offer will be delivered by a combination of Telepractice and
face to face appointments, some of which may be in the form of groups.We are looking for individuals who are keen to invest in their own development and in return we will support you through professional and clinical supervision, shadowing and co-working opportunities, in-service training, professional forums, trust wide AHP research group, and funding opportunities for relevant external training courses.
Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area. Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.
The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.
