Full Job Description

6-month Fixed term/ Secondment post for 37.5 hrs per week for a Community Perinatal Mental Health Nurse., The applicant must have excellent clinical skills, be able to demonstrate an ability to complete comprehensive mental state examinations, thoroughly assess risk, formulate safe and effective risk management plans and document and communicate these clearly and concisely.

We expect applicants to have experience of managing caseloads in a complex multidisciplinary/multiagency context. We also expect applicants to have experience of using formal child protection processes and being involved in interagency work with families. An awareness of current policies and practice in this area is essential.

In addition, we offer regular in-house training opportunities to learn from each other which aims to continuously improve our practice.

About us

The Team provides a Monday-Friday, 9.00am-5.00pm service. The successful applicant would be expected to have the flexibility to work occasional extended opening hours to facilitate early or late clinic appointments, home visits or training.

The Perinatal Mental Health service provides specialist, multidisciplinary perinatal mental health care for women from preconception, during pregnancy and up to two years postnatal who live in the boroughs of Hillingdon

The team works closely with Maternity Services on site as well with local community and inpatient mental health services, primary care services, social services and a wide range of other statutory and third sector organisations.

We are looking for a skilled , experienced and passionate practitioner who must have a warm and approachable disposition and have very good communication and interpersonal skills. They must be a team player, be confident and motivated as well as being flexible and able to show initiative. They must be robust and resourceful and willing to work outside their comfort zone in an environment which can sometimes be demanding and stressful.
